lyrics
Brought before the elder brain
In the depths of the cold caves
The news spawns nest in the brine
Dark destiny is birthed in the Underdark
Unleashed into the brine
Destroyed the hatchlings every one
Witnessing the authoritative display
One remains in the pool
Recognizing the supreme
Untapped limitless potential
The need for a powerful vessel
The might of the dragon to evolve
Hunt
Ascend from the Underdark
Hunt for the young dragon
With a strong psionic blast
Fall unto cold earth
Dazed and dismembered
Mutilating the wings
No chance of escape
Brought down below the surface
Within the containment cell
Illithids enter with the tadpole
Inserted in the nostril of the beast
Ceremorphosis begins
Brains devoured loss of control
Grotesque transformation nigh
The snout rots away
Replaced with protruding tentacles
Guitar Solo
Where once was majestic wings
Now reduced to flesh stretched over bone
Mighty scales shed away
Behold the slick purple skin
The brainstealer dragon grows
Fully matured the threat inordinate
Breaks free from the Illithid containment
Devouring the elder brain and dismantling the colony

An outstanding Extreme doom death album, in the best tradition. The funerary atmosphere reminds of Evoken ('Centuries of ooze" bears striking similarities, for my delight). It is overall sharp, dark, hypnotic and unrelenting. One of those rare convincing new bands that hold proud the legacy of the biggest names. Bertrand Marchal

never been a big death metal fan but this is actually super accessible for the genre, has fun concepts, and personally i'm always a fan of albums with short tracklists and huge runtimes (for individual songs) Great time, good jumping on point for newbies too. alienasu
The metal’s band revelatory new record crosses genres and styles, effortlessly combining seemingly incompatible subgenres. Bandcamp Album of the Day Apr 26, 2024
